Where Have All The Critics Gone?
August 22, 2008 3 Comments
Where have all the critics gone? When the United States invaded Iraq to enforce the countless UN resolutions against Saddam Hussein’s despotic regime the critics came out of the woodwork. They denounced US intentions to enforce those resolutions. They railed against Bush over his comments on Iran. They attacked him over his policy with North Korea.
So just where are these critics now that a
resurgent Russia has not only invaded a sovereign country, but also threatened nuclear war with Poland. Do I need to remind people that Poland is a member of NATO and an ally of the US?
Where are these critics when Russia agrees to a cease fire, only to ignore the agreement? Huh where are these people?
I will tell you where these people are. They are sitting at home watching the news on tv while cheering the Russians on. Democratic politicians like Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, and Tom Harkin do not give a rip about the US. The only thing that they care about is furthering their own political careers and lining their pockets with as much green as they can. These are the members of the “Blame America First” club. They are the ones that blame America for all the ills of the world. You see in their mind America is to blame for Russia’s invasion of Georgia. America is to blame for the threats that Russia launched against Poland. In their minds and in their hearts America is evil.
This lack of a response from the loons that occupy the hateful left has had me disturbed since Russia’s occupation of Georgia began. I thought, surely these people that so opposed our invasion of Iraq would speak out against Russia’s aggression. As the days went on I thought that the next day would bring about a chorus of denunciations of Russia’s brutality. But as each day passed without such a comment I began to realize that it was just wishful thinking on my part. It was through this that the left once again demonstrated that they really do hate America.
They do hate America, and there are a lot of them, and they think they are about to come into their own if Obama gets elected.
Check out some information on The Weather Underground which was the group to which Obama’s friends William Ayers and Bernadette Dorn were connected.

“Since September 11, 2001 many Americans, along with others around the world, have been preoccupied with the why of what happened. We wonder how Islamists could kill themselves and innocent people, believing they are doing this in the name of God. But terrorism is not new and exists everywhere. The radicalism of the late 1960s spawned its own terrorist movement, the Weather Underground. ”

“Just prior to the bombing of the New York City Police Department in 1970, Bernadette Dorn spoke for the Weather Underground, saying,
‘Our job is to lead white kids into armed revolution. . . . Ever since SDS became revolutionary, we’ve been trying to show how it is possible to overcome the frustration and impotence that comes from trying to reform the system. . . . Tens of thousands have learned that protest and marches won’t do it. Revolutionary violence is the only way [quoted in Powers, 1971, p. 212].’
“The prospect of violent change has its own appeal. Destroying entire buildings, disrupting social institutions, and striking terror into whole populations provides an unparalleled sense of power, beside which the slow and incremental process of political change pales.”
If recent reports are to be believed, Ayers regrets he and his buddies didn’t accomplish more in the seventies, but one would think they did enough. Maybe they themselves have retired from terrorism ( and who knows for sure?) but they have left their mark on generations who followed.
The only thing I have a beef with there is that I am throughly upset with the Bush administration for there leinency with North Korea.
They have all but let them off the hook when I believe that the threat coming from North Korea crazyman Kim Jeung Ill and his China backers are worse than Saddam or Iran because KimJung Ill already has the NUKES!!!
I think Tom Bolton said it best.
I sure hope McCain has the chunas to deal with these thugs, but I dont really know. I havent seen the hardline stance that I was hoping for.
part of Michael Barone’s recent article on Obama and Ayers:
In my U.S. News column this week, I make a brief reference to the unrepentant Weather Underground terrorist bomber William Ayers and his connections to Barack Obama. They were closer than Obama implied when George Stephanopoulos asked him about Ayers in the April 16 debate—the last debate Obama allowed during the primary season. To get an idea of how close they were, check out Tom Maguire’s Just One Minute blog and Steve Diamond’s Global Labor and Politics. The Obama-Ayers relationship is also mentioned in David Freddoso’s The Case Against Barack Obama: The Unlikely Rise and Unexamined Agenda of the Media’s Favorite Candidate.
Ayers was one of the original grantees of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, a school reform organization in the 1990s, and was cochairman of the Chicago School Reform Collaborative, one the two operational arms of the CAC. Obama, then not yet a state senator, became chairman of the CAC in 1995. Later in that year, the first organizing meeting for Obama’s state Senate campaign was held in Ayers’s apartment. Ayers later wrote a memoir, and an article about him appeared in the New York Times on Sept. 11, 2001. “I don’t regret setting bombs,” Ayers is quoted as saying. “I feel we didn’t do enough.”
Ayers was a terrorist in the late 1960s and 1970s whose radical group set bombs at the Pentagon and U.S. Capitol.
