Goodbye Joe?

The Obama campaign is reeling from the body blows that the McCain camp has been throwing at him. Then in what may end up being the knockout blow McCain picked Alaska governor Sarah Palin for his running mate. Now, whether some Dems want to admit it or not, some of Hillary Clinton’s supporters are abandoning the Democratic Party to support McCain/Palin. You can read it on the blogs and in the comment section of the news sites.
Then Joe Biden, Obama’s running mate, comes out at a campaign stop and makes the remark that Hillary Clinton would have been just as good of a pick if not better pick than him. You can watch the video here. You may be asking yourself why the Democratic vice presidential nominee would be questioning the judgment of his running mate. Read further to find out my opinion on this.

I am of the belief that this comment is a way to grease the skids so to speak for Biden’s exit and Hillary’s addition to the ticket. If I were a betting man I would place money on the likelihood of this event coming to pass. Here is how I can see it happening. I can see Biden announcing that he has been informed he has a mysterious illness and as such he couldn’t in good conscience remain on the ticket. So he will announce that he is stepping aside so Obama can pick a healthy running mate. Then in an attempt to assuage the Hillary supporters he will pick Hillary Clinton as his running mate. I don’t know whether this strategy would work for him or whether it will backfire for the attempt at pandering such a move would so obviously be.
I don’t know whether this will actually come to pass, but from the talk we have been hearing out of Biden, it certainly would not surprise me any to see it happen. Of course, those of us that can actually use our heads can see that this would be nothing more than an attempt to pander to Hillary supporters. Only time will tell.
What? I can’t imagine this would happen. Interesting, very interesting.
I think BO has gone too far to go back, however McCain has really got me pissed, as usual. It seems everyone I talk to about this just tries to shut me up, but I really cant support this guy.
Have you seen this?

I know people are scared to death of Obama (Which I am too) but you do understand that right when McCain is elected he will become the same old same, not only because thats who he is, but he will have to cater to the Democratic majority.
Its a very sad day when your two choices are both horrible
sorry – no way Obama puts a Clinton a heartbeat away from the Presidency when that heartbeat is HIS!
John, thanks for the link. I don’t know what to say.
Akble, I think that he so desperately wants to win the White House that he would do almost anything to do so. Even if that includes putting Hillary on the ticket.
I agree that it would be suicidal to do so, but right now Obama is not thinking clearly. The surge from McCain has him rocked. Right now Obama is like a boxer that has taken a head shot. He is dizzy and disoriented. As such he will lash out in any way that he can to regain his balance.
John, I am going to go to the link you posted but first I have to say McCain has gotten me really angry as well.
I suspect that McCain thinks he has safely satisfied his base with the choice of Sarah Palin and now he can go forward and do as he darn pleases…well we will have to wait and see…
