Democratic Divide

The Democrats Messiah has stepped in it again. Opened his mouth and inserted both feet deep into his mouth. Last week John McCain was on ABC with Matt Lauer asking the questions. One of the questions had to do with the massive bailout of corporate giant AIG. In his response, Senator McCain stated that no, he didn’t believe that the government should bailout AIG. Now this morning in an interview with Matt Lauer, Barack Obama starts in on Senator McCain for his remarks on this subject. Then Lauer responds to Obama that just three minutes later on the same network, Joe Biden made the same remarks that no AIG should not be bailed out.

Couple this with the fact that Senator John McCain has caught or even surpassed Obama in some polls. His own running mate in continuously questioning his judgment on his pick for a running mate, his judgment on our 2nd amendment rights, and his judgment on political campaign ads. This all adds up to a potential feud that, if Obama were to lose, could divide the Democratic Party. One piece of evidence that Team Obama is fading is the fact that his surrogates in the media are proclaiming loudly that if Obama were to lose it would be because of race. They can not seem to understand that some people may not like his politics. But that is the way the media works. In addition to this we are finally getting to see Michelle Obama back on the campaign trail where she urges women not to vote for Palin because she is cute. Hmm. Looks like someone has a problem with women that are smart and beautiful, maybe because those qualities are contradictory to herself?

It would appear for all intents and purposes that there is trouble in liberal paradise with the Democratic presidential nominee at odds with the vice presidential nominee on numerous issues. This is just one example of the growing discord within the Obama camp. If you take a good look at Obama, it would appear that the campaign has aged him tremendously in the last few weeks. It is enough to make you ponder if he is up to the stresses that he would encounter as the commander in chief. At the end of the day one has to wonder, will Team Obama be able to hold it together until November 4th or will they fold like a cheap tent in an Iowa thunderstorm. Only time will tell.

I’m going to play the devil’s advocate here and suggest that Sarah Palin come forth and say where John McCain is wrong, such as stem cell research and the federal marriage amendment. She should also denounce the stem cell research ad that bears her name. The same divide is in the Republican nominees, they are just not being honest about it.

I understand what you are saying Iowans Rock- but with so many people just waiting to pounce on anything that Palin says… for me, for now, I will take her for what she is doing.

It is enough for me to know that Palin has family values and beliefs about choosing life over abortion. We have not had this kind of high profile support for being for life. Palin is enduring a huge amount of hatred because of her religious and family values beliefs.

When I see what some in the McCain camp have said and how it has been taken out of context and used against them it is hard to want Sarah Palin to endure a lot more at this time.

As to the post here- I wonder how many people are really looking at Obama and zeroing in on what he claims he will do as president.

It does not interest me as to what Obama looks like- it is what he believes in that is of great concern to me.

    Who said that?? :)

IR, I think that she has, just not publicly. I think that when she is in close quarters with McCain behind the scenes. I think that there is an honest discussion between the two candidates.
I don’t think that this is dishonesty. I think that they are just keeping their differences private.

Palin has already said that her personal opinions may differ from the administration. So, she has made it public that she will accept McCain’s differences on these issues. She herself said that her life is an open book and that the public deserves to know, so I doubt that she is keeping anything from us in private. However, she has stood up to him on drilling in ANWR.

    Just keeping them honest.
