Express Your Anger

I am sure that you have heard the news by now, the US Senate passed its own pork laden version of the bailout bill last night. Of course they aren’t calling it a bailout bill; no they are terming it a rescue plan. What the Senate did last night was vote to add even more debt to future generations of Americans. And in the process they have shown a spectacular disregard for the wishes of the general population.
When the leaders of both parties figured out that there was not enough support for this bill on it’s own they decided to sweeten the deal with expenditures for various Senators pet projects. This pork barrel spending includes such necessities as tax breaks for the makers of children’s wooden arrows. Another must have is tax break for litigants of the Exxon Valdez spill. I mean come on, we are in a financial crisis here, the country is deeply in debt, and the leaders of our country want to billions more to bailout Wall Street firms that handed out bad loans to people across the country. They want to bailout corporations whose board of executives designed executive pay packages to include a “golden parachute” for executives, even if they fail miserably. They want to bailout corporations that may have fraudulently cooked their books so their execs could siphon away more of the profit for personal use. These are the guys that you want us, the every day American, to save. I am sorry, that is the wrong answer. These legislative leaders are as out of touch as the corrupt executives are.
When our forefathers set up this country I am sure that they foresaw a time when the government would become blind to the needs of the people. So it is now up to the people of the United States. Are we going to continue to elect these politicians that regularly and completely disregard the will of the people, or will we vote for a real honest to goodness change. A change that will bring back the days when the will of the people are followed.
This year there is not much that we can do with Senator Grassley other than voice our displeasure with him and his vote. Senator Harkin on the other hand is in a reelection bid against Republican challenger Christopher Reed. To deliver a message to Congress and the White House we need to defeat all incumbents that voted for this corporate welfare bill. That means that we need to vote for Christopher Reed. Reed is a very plain spoken man that truly wants to go to Washington to do the will of the people. He wants to be the extension of the people of Iowa, the place where they can go when their voice isn’t being heard in the halls of Congress. And this is one of the many reasons that I will cast my vote for Christopher Reed on November 4th. It is time to express our anger and disappointment with Congress at the ballot box.
Come on Republicans, Democrats, and Independents! Get Harkin out of here! Pick whoever you want to for president because both candidates supported this bill, but check the box for Reed!!!! Come on, let’s get a fresh start here. Now is our chance more than ever! I just volunteered for the Reed campaign because I realize what is at stake here. These politicians have just squandered away our money AGAIN. It is your vote…….use it wisely.
Will be staying tuned in to the media spin on Harkin’s vote.
Surely our liberal newspaper will have some spin on it.
It is the voters who must jump up and down and get the vote out to once and for all rid us of Harkin and his selfish ways.
It’s not enough for Republicans to be angry, it will take Democrats looking at Barney Frank, Dodd, Pelosi, Reed and all of those kinds of people.
Getting rid of RINO’s is not enough any more. It will take getting rid of the greedy, name calling, and same old D.C. people- start with a clean slate.
And then, responsibility by the American people, the taxpayers, and voters to hold them all accountable.
There has to be a lot of anger and long-term memory here to make a dent in the awful things that are happening in D.C.
It must be a toxic place to take down so many people, to turn them into angry, greedy, under the table sell outs.
We now have a responsibility – to VOTE OUT EVERY SINGLE MEMBER OF CONGRESS THAT APPROVED THAT BILL. It is unacceptable that pork was put into that bill – the ONLY way that we can take this country back is with our votes. Make no mistake – this is NOT your country anymore. At this point in time there are the super rich and the have-nots. America, as know it, is over.
