Memo to Tom Harkin and Becky Greenwald
Memo to Tom Harkin: as you continue to brag about your Great American Sell Out Vote and Memo to Becky Greenwald as you shout out how you would have voted if given the chance, be aware of what Iowa taxpayers/voters had to say about the pork laden bill.
It’s too late to take back your bragging. Voters have your number. We will remember when we go to vote on Election Day. When candidates like you thumb your noses at the voters, in this current ‘crisis’, it really is a crisis and one that will cost you the prize of victory.

KCCI Poll September 2008
IOWA POLL RESULTS – SEPTEMBER 2008
GOVERNMENT BAILOUT: As you may know, Congress rejected a proposal which would have enabled the federal government to intervene and protect several major financial institutions in trouble because of high-risk mortgages that failed. This proposal would have allowed for taxpayer money to be used to help with the intervention and the price tag is estimated to total at least $700 billion. We’d like to ask you a few questions about the government’s proposal.
QUESTION: Overall, do you approve or disapprove of the Congress voting against the government’s proposal?
APPROVE DISAPPROVE NOT SURE
61% 26% 13%
QUESTION: Should taxpayer money be used to protect private companies from financial losses?
YES NO NOT SURE
12% 81% 7%

It is almost funny that the people in that poll will re-elect Harkin, Loebsack, and Boswell even when they KNOW that the candidates voted YES on the $850 bailout.
