Another reason to NOT vote for Greenwald

It was great to open the Opinion section of The Tribune in Ames, Iowa and find a Letter to the Editor with the writer having the same sentiments of Becky Greenwald’s support of the ‘bailout plan’ as I have. It takes a degree of time and effort to write such a letter. In this case, G. Hendrick is so accurate with what is shared in the letter that I could not have said it any better myself! I share it here so that others may be come to understand why Iowa voters and taxpayers will chose Tom Latham over Becky Greenwald.

Greenwald and economic uncertainty

10/16/2008

“To the Editor

Why does Becky Greenwald support the $850 billion bailout plan?

From its inception, the idea of pumping hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars into the corrupt coffers of Wall Street is simply ludicrous. For a so-called advocate of reducing the “squeeze” on the middle class, Greenwald’s support of this legislation sure seems fishy. Legislation of this magnitude should not be railroaded through Congress for political expediency.

The lack of oversight, the act of writing a nearly blank check to one man (the secretary of the Treasury) and the addition of wasteful pork is unforgivable.

After watching day after day of record losses to the Dow Jones and seeing our retirements put in jeopardy since its passage, we, as voters, need to stand up and let her know she is wrong.

Greenwald’s stance on this issue cannot be swept under the rug. She is grossly irresponsible in her support of a taxpayer-funded bailout of Wall Street corruption. When you are getting ready to fill out your absentee ballot or head to the polls, remember a vote for Greenwald is a vote for more economic uncertainty.”

That is a great catch. It is good to know people are still ticked off about it. Latham did us right by voting NO. It is too bad that Grassley will never get my vote again.
