Christopher Reed Snubbed Again
October 17, 2008 11 Comments
I know that you have all heard by now about the Iowa GOP’s lack of support for US Senate Candidate Christopher Reed. If you don’t know who Chris is, then the Republican Party of Iowa has done an adequate job of snuffing out a 100% conservative candidate. And by the way, he is challenging the ultra liberal, sell-out, kind of lives in Iowa man by the name of Tom Harkin. Caleb Hunter of the RPI even went as far as telling supporters not to support Reed, but to instead support the more winnable races. The Iowa GOP fought back by saying money is tight and that they don’t have much wealth to spread around so they are focusing on key Iowa House candidates. Okay, I can understand that. We need to take our government back from the grips of Mike Gronstal someday, so lets start building. But one would think that the RPI would do some supportive things for Reed that don’t require much money. Well, see for yourself in this email from the Polk County GOP and I’ll let you figure out whose name is missing.

The last I checked it wouldn’t cost anything to include Christopher Reed’s information in this email. No wonder nobody knows who Chris is when the largest county in Iowa doesn’t even include him in their email update! So much for not supporting Reed because of lack of money………how about not supporting him because of the lack of caring in the future our party. I’m sorry Iowa GOP, I mean YOUR party.
GRRRRRRRRRR! No, it would not cost money.
I look at this as pay back for Reed speaking out?
Is this my GOP? I join Iowans Rock- not any more.
And the battle rages.
First, Caleb has been vindicated. He never said that, nobody can find anyone who can prove he did. Reed got it third-hand.
Second, this came from the POLK COUNTY Republicans. If you have a beef, it’s with Sporer, NOT the Republican Party of Iowa.
Here is the real story:
http://www.hawkeyegop.com/2008/10/reed-on-deace.html#comments
Well, I’m sorry to say then that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
Caleb vindicated? not with me. and I checked out your link, wrong.
Wrong- what I just read was a powerful message to me as to why I will not be supporting the Republican party, but rather candidates who have insight to what conservative voters want in a candidate. Your link was not the real story to me- just more of the same litany of political garbage.
My beef is with the Republican party- and I am reflecting what I experienced at the state convention. Such an unorganized “group” on the state level.
Wrong- I must clarify that it was mostly the comments from the link that caught my attention and wrath.
OK – I’ll stand corrected when you have just one person come forward who actually heard Caleb say that. Just one.
*crickets chirping*
That’s what I thought. It’s fine if you hate the party. Everybody hates the party every cycle. That’s nothing new and will never change – they’re easy to blame for everything.
But calling out someone based on lies in unacceptable.
It’s very Kim Lehman-esque – the person whose Right to Life newsletter says Miller-Meeks isn’t pro-life, despite repeated on-the-record statements to the contrary, and no waivering on the issue, not once.
I don’t hate the party. I hate that the party hates me.
A new day is coming in the Iowa GOP! I can just feel it!
I want a front row seat!
The GOP is dead. It left real conservatives behind long ago in 1996. People are just starting to realize it now is all.
Maybe so Taco,
But there will be a resurgence.
Once Obama and all the Democrats are in power and must take responsibility for what they do, than people will start seeing things how they really are.
I think the world of Obama. Honestly, I think it was wrong to go negative in this campaign. McCain’s (Who is NOT A REPUBLICAN) best message was that Obama is a good person, he is just not a good leader.
THAT is what people want to hear. The liberal media will twist everything to take it out on GW and the American people arent far behind. People want a fresh new perspective.
That is why we will have the race by the short and curlies in 2012.
Bobby Jindal has already started making plans for campaigning in Iowa. Huckabee got his own show, Republicans are already gearing up for this race, and it should be a slobberknocker.
We will be back!
The GOP is dead because they don’t comprehend the 21st century and are a minimum of 10 years behind.
They are also not conservative, having presided (President, House, and Senate) over the largest spending, deficits, and debt in American history.
Plus they sabotage science in favor of radical right nuts who fear, condemn, and fight what they don’t understand. The same people who 10 years ago thought home computers were crazy, that “how can you make money on the internet?” and that we can populate and consume WITHOUT LIMITS without consequence.
The only way the GOP will come back is to wake up, get educated for THIS CENTURY, and practice conservative values, not greed, consumerism, and other unsustainable practices INCLUDING runaway budgets, perpetual war, and exploding debt.
