Some Thoughts from IDA on Election Day

I see on other blogs that there are predictions for the election from the top of the ticket on down to the bottom.  You won’t get that from us here.  Our members are working the polls, sitting in bomb shelters, still throwing out a few Hail Marys, and one left manning the blog……me.  So, I thought it appropriate to give an election day thought from our members.  A post that states a view from all of our members hasn’t happened here yet due to the fact that while we all have the same goals, we go about achieving those goals in very different ways.  But the thoughts I will leave you with I am pretty sure all of our members can agree on.

As I voted today in a line of people and as I have been sitting watching the TV and the steady stream of voters in other states, I couldn’t help but get a little teary-eyed at the thought of what a great country we live in.  A country where WE get to pick our leaders and the will of the PEOPLE overrides all other voices.  (Although, a few courts need to be reminded of that, but that is for a later time.)  What we have here is what other countries can only dream of.  Another awesome thing?  I can sit here at my computer and I can type whatever comes to my mind with no fear of being arrested and I can openly thank God for this great country that we live in.  I also don’t want to forget all of those men and women who have died for us to keep these freedoms.  What a true gift to be an American………life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

    I agree
It is simply amazing. I really dont care who wins or who people vote for, it is just amazing that they vote.

We live in a free country!
That is something to be proud of!
