Matt Strawn Supporting Duncan for RNC Chair: What the Heck?
As my least favorite conservative, Ann Coulter, would say, “Matt Strawn, you have some ‘splainin to do.” Our new RPI Chairman has thrown his support behind current RNC Chairman Mike Duncan to be re-elected to the party’s top spot. Didn’t we just lose this past election season? Isn’t our party in shambles right now and is in desperate need of a new face with fresh ideas to re-energize the party? If you failed miserable at your job last year would you be expected to get your job back this year? Evidently some in the Republican party think it is wise to reward failure.

Betrayed.

Now, hold on. Before you all start casting stones, the number one, top priority of the chairman is to keep Iowa first. That’s it. There is no other reason. Without being first, Iowans have no say – including on marriage and right-to-life issues.
Strawn understands this. Make no mistake – the folks at IDA and everywhere else in this state become but a splinter of the relevancy we all have now.
There is no bigger responsibility for the chairman than keeping us first, plain and simple. Get behind him.

Imagine my shock as I turned on CSPAN and there is Strawn talking for Duncan. Seriously? Support the old guard, the establishment, the one who led the GOP through these losses. Things that make you go “hmmmmmmmmmm”.

Anon, you could be right, however, the fact that Steele and Duncan are in the top two shows that our party is in a sorry state of affairs. The committee gets to choose between a loser and a RINO lover. PERFECT.

Dawson takes the lead over Steele, 62 to 60.
Anuzis and Blackwell might as well throw in the towel now. Let their supporters go support someone else.

With Duncan out we stand a good chance for having our own little “hope and change” fest. I think that it is unfortunate that Strawn supported Mike Duncan but I am not shocked. The Iowa RNC is not exactly the pinnacle of conservative excellence.

And the winner is Michael Steele.
I don’t want to rush to judge him, so the ball is in Steele court. Let us see what you can do.

You have a better attitude than I do, abregar. We will still be wandering in the wilderness.
