How about taxing lottery tickets oh wait cant do that were probably gonna sell it off soon also. Ive heard the federal govt is wanting possibly .50 cents raise in gas tax as well. If that happens tack on to the price almost 60 cents that bumps it over 2.10 right now one hurricane away from 5.00 a gallon again. and back to the same situation were in. For one i dont like Chester the tax molester taking road fund money to balance his budget. Legalize fireworks loads of money goes south of the border every year in Iowa. Were gonna have people get injured with them anyways. Keep Iowa money in Iowa not fixing Missouri roads.

It must be way too much trouble to come up with ways to SAVE money and too easy to dream up more ways to TAKE our money! We must vote these big spenders OUT of office. And our opportunity to do so can not come too soon!

Looks like Iowa is getting money for recreational trails from the Obama C.R.A.P. plan. Yessssssssss. That’s what we need to get our economy booming.

Thanks for asking Jerry, there are many areas of opportunity here.
For one the DOT can quit planting trees along our roadways only to cut them out a few years later.

Hold off on recreational trails until our state is out of the red.

This is just a couple of the many areas where our state could make cuts or improvements to save money. It just takes someone with some leadership ability to find them and obviously Tom Rielly and the Democratic leadership does not have that ability.

On two dollar gas, a hike of eight cents is a four percent increase. Since it’s been twenty years ago the tax was last increased, this hardly seems burdensome. How long do you think the roads will last if the tax is never increased? What is your proposal?

Real bright morons help jack the gas back up in price and you will have the same troubles again next year. The extreme high gas prices lead to fewer miles driven and less gas bought. Keep sticking it to the folks while they are down. Leave us alone make some real budget cuts curb outrageous spending.

I think the most disheartening thing about this isn’t the fact that Democrats are supportive of it. It’s that Republicans are supportive, too. Bill Northey and David Vaudt will have some splainin to do if they decide to run for governor.

The Dems suffered a crippling defeat in the prevailing wage. We’ll see how far the gas tax goes. THAT IS IF REPUBLICANS STAND AGAINST IT.
