Pelosi demands end to immigration raids…

Nancy Pelosi is at it again. This woman needs our scrutiny and attention. The bigger picture with Pelosi’s comments about illegal immigration is what the Obama administration via Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano intends to do with enforcing the laws in place about the people, yes families, in the United States illegally.
Even with so much attention on the economic crisis Americans must continue to focus on other important issues that relate to our national security. I share here what Pelosi is doing and also my concerns about where America is headed under Obama/Napolitano.
From the article about Nancy Pelosi speaking in San Francisco:
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi joined hundreds of families Saturday evening at a church in San Francisco’s Mission District demanding an end to the immigration raids and deportations that separate parents from children across the United States.
“Our future is about our children,” Pelosi told a crowd of mostly Latino families at St. Anthony’s Church.
No matter if those families arrived two days ago or centuries ago, Pelosi said “that opportunity, that determination, that hope has made American more American.”
She said, “Taking parents from their children … that’s un-American.”
And some information about Obama’s administration views on an ICE raid:
Immigrant rights groups blasted President Obama on Wednesday for breaking what they called his “personal commitment” to change Bush-era immigration raids after U.S. authorities raided an engine machine shop in Washington state and detained illegal immigrants.
The Obama administration itself seemed taken aback by the raid by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents, with Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano vowing to Congress that she would “get to the bottom of this.”
“The secretary is not happy and this is not her policy,” a Homeland Security official said Wednesday evening, speaking on the condition of anonymity because the secretary’s review is ongoing.
White House spokesman Nick Shapiro said “these raids are not a long-term solution.”
But Nancy in the past the immigrants that came to America learned English the ones from Mexico dont want to learn english you dont think thats gonna create friction and troubles ahead not to mention their flat out disrespect of the law. One for the manner they entered this country. Look how it is in Mexico do we want drug wars here? I dont think i want to have to sit up at night with a loaded machine gun which looks like im gonna need to buy a arsenal of those just to protect myself.
I just saw a video on FOX News of Pelosi speaking at this church. She is totally disgusting! Pandering Pelosi.
Cool it, Woodrow. Immigrants have a lower crime rate than locals. They keep their nose to the grindstone so they can send money home to relatives and so they don’t attract police attention. You don’t need an arsenal. You need a more charitible attitude.
Legal immigrants may have a lower crime rate, but illegal immigrants most definitely have a higher crime rate. Their prescence in our country alone requires their willful violation of US law.
Illegal aliens are criminals. They did not follow the process to gain entry to this country. Every country has these laws for many reasons including public safety.. Case in point the recent Tuberculosis scares, let alone the massive movement of MS-13 gang activity.
I really get irritated with people that misuse the word immigrant. An immigrant is someone that moved here to become an American and follows the law… A legal resient alien is someone with a “green card” that has followed the law to live and work in this country.
Illegal aliens have broken the law must go through the process of reconciling their classification to regain good legal status. These are criminals by definition.
We need more legal immigration. It needs to be less expensive and much more sensible. What we do not need are more Ms-13 or even more people on perpetual welfare.
let’s imagine a future where raids of homes and workplaces are common. Yeah no thanks. The reason we have such a mess of immigration of because of a inefficient system. like anything associated with gov’t. I know because i’ve been a part of it. But to try to criminalize ALL these people in a broad stroke is wrong. that’s like saying that all americans are like every american criminal that is locked up. There are millions of undocumented immirants that contribute tremendously to their community and make it a point to stay out of trouble because of the fact that they are undocumented. And of course there are those that have criminal intents which the media use to chraracterize ALL undocumented people in the US
Nicolas,
So what you are saying is that as long as you are a contributing member of society, it shouldn’t matter that you break the law. Breaking the one law of entering illegally isn’t “criminal intent” just the other wrong doings some might do once they are here is. And who cares about those immigrants who do follow the rules……………
So you are saying someone that breaks the law is not a criminal? Your analogy is flawed as the first group has not committed a crime as to where the second has. In the case of illegal aliens they are all criminals by definition (as legal immigrants are NOT criminals because they followed the law). You do realize that breaking the law makes one a criminal right?
I don’t think anyone would disagree with you that the immigration system needs to be streamlined to allow more productive workers and people wanting to start businesses in quickly. I would be for this.. I even agree with temporary work visas for seasonal workers. But I sure don’t agree with just letting people break the law and come in under the dark of night with who knows what intentions.
