Wisconsin: Next Stop for the Court’s Tyranny

Well it looks like our neighbor to the east, Wisconsin, is the next target on Tim Gill’s hit list.  Their state Supreme Court will review whether or not the marriage amendment to the state constitution that was passed by almost 60% of the people eighteen months ago is constitutional.  An amendment to the consitution must be single issue and critics are saying the marriage amendment deals with two issues:  defining traditional marriage and banning gay marriage.

Why are some in Wisconsin just now questioning the constitutionality of this amendment?  It is called jumping on the “Barack Obama is in office, we have the majority, the activist judges are on our side, and we can’t let the gay activists’ money down” liberal bandwagon.  What is interesting is watching the different states and how they decide to push gay marriage on the people.  I believe that if it is a legislature where gay marriage will not pass, such as Iowa, the politicians choose to hide behind the judges’ robes and let the opinion slide into a so-called “law.”  And if it is a state where it can get through the legislature, such as Vermont, they will make gay marriage the law the legal way.  Notice that the issue is not being put on the ballot for the people of the states to vote on.  Why?  Because traditional marriage has never failed on the ballot in thirty states including California–TWICE.

According to some constitutionally illerate people the Iowa Supreme Court did not make gay marriage a “law,” they just “struck down” our Defense of Marriage Act.  If this is true, then how can it be argued that an amendment that institutes marriage between on man and woman also bans gay marriage?  Seems pretty contradictory, although maybe that is because the marriage amendment to the Wisconsin constitution really isn’t under fire because it deals with more than one issue; it is being attacked because of THE issue.  Just another way to force gay marriage against the will of the people.

That is silly and makes absolutely no sense.

Unless, of course, you expect someone to burst into your house and marry you to someone against your will.

and two adults entering a loving, committed, consensual relationship affects you how?

If they somehow remove an amendment to the their constitution through the courts without the will of the people it will be a sad day for constitutional republics.

Whether you agree or disagree with the amendment that entire premise should be insulting.

It to me is a total break down of morals of a society that made this country great. And if you think its ok for courts to take away our constitution a piece here and a piece there what will you have left in the end ? Then you should embrace communism. Without our constitution we will be a communist country.
