Senator Barbara Boxer of California is trying hard to push through the climate bill being sold to you and me as Cap and Trade. She says quote ” there will be dire results: droughts, floods, fires, loss of species, damage to agriculture, worsening air pollution and more”. She goes on to say quote ” there’s a huge upside, however, if the Senate does act: millions of clean-energy jobs, reduced reliance on foreign oil and less pollution for the nation’s children”. But no where in the article does she mention if we do reduce green house gases that the above droughts, fires, floods, loss of species, and damage to agriculture will get better or go away and she says more also? Is she gonna get biblical on us? With more, because thats first thing that went through my mind when i read that and MORE. Maybe we will see some fire and brimstone come raining down on us? Or a flood of Noah type proportions? Why doesn’t she mention these going away ??
Because these are natural weather occuring events thats happens every day on this planet for millions of years and we have no control over them. I sure hope Ms. Boxer can go down to the Gulf of Mexico the next time a huge hurricane winds up and maybe she will shake her fist at the storm and say your not supposed to be here and it will miraculously disappear because we passed cap and trade and this type of things aren’t supposed to happen anymore. I will feel so much better when she does that ! Maybe they could get worse but they sure as heck are not going to go away just because she says they will if we pass this huge bill and put the burden of the bill onto the taxpayer. I don’t know where she figures we are going to be coming up with all this money to pay for Universal health care and Cap and Trade. I know where its going to be coming from our pockets.
A lot of you out there have already turned down your thermostat in the winters because the natural gas prices were so high and sitting in a cooler house having to dress in warm cloths thick sweaters or jacket to keep warm. And theres a lot of lower income households who would not be able to afford paying higher income tax to pay for universal health care or pay a extra 200 bucks a month or more on their light bill during winter months. I can see summers coming down to the only thing you have plugged in, in your house is your refridgerator or deep freeze. Keeping everything else that uses electricity off or unplugged. And this will make us less dependant on foreign oil? Hmm ok if the bill is going to reduce the carbon emissions by 83 % by 2050. I fail to see where this is gonna create millions of jobs when it also would kill millions of jobs so the trade off won’t be good we could lose more than we create. We will have massive junk yards when we have to scrap over 100 million+ internal combustion engine cars and trucks.
Just what would we have left going in this country to produce only 17% green house gases in 40 yrs from now ? I think it would have to eliminate all of the coal powered power plants that create almost 60% of our energy. It would have to take millions of automobiles off the roads. Industries would have to shut down or pay a massive cost to go cleaner which gets passed on to you and me when we would purchase a item. Or they would move the plants to a country where they don’t care about the pollution levels like China and India and we would lose those jobs . It will cost us more for every item we buy unless we grow it in our own garden. I don’t think there would be much left if you count all the houses in this country who use natual gas i think that right there would cover the 17%. Its hard to imagine just what would be left.
This isn’t the time to be coming up with more costly things when America is struggling to get by as it is. To me this cap and trade bill is like the school bully who you must now give your lunch money to or he will beat you up. So the bill will become the bully and if you want to sit in a warmer or cooler house and everything your going to buy your going to pay more to do it. We get poorer and the rich elite who came up with this scam will get richer. Don’t get me wrong i do think we need to come up with energy source thats cheap, clean and renewable. I know one of these days we will exhaust the fossil fuel supply we use now. Don’t be surprised in future that our water supply has higher levels of mercury in it due to the go green lightbulb movement that we have no current place that collects these bulbs after they burn out and alot of these bulbs end up being crushed in the land fill and the mercury from them leeches down into the ground water we consume. Where does it all end i suppose when there is no more change left in my pocket. Im sure as long as Ms. Boxer has her cushy senator job why would she care if its gonna cost Americans.

In your essay article you have done a good job of touching upon and illuminating many (although not all) of the false, sham and destructive philosophies and political actions of the global warming, Cap and Trade crowd. Thanks.
This really is a dilemma for conservatives, isn’t it? Do we conserve our climate (stop polluting it) or do we conserve our lifestyle?
And as usual the more personal change is feared more: Don’t change the setting on my air conditioner!!! Let the planet fend for itself.
PS, If you’re worried about mercury pollution, stop burning so much coal–turn off your A/C and your computer to reduce coal use. Go with solar or wind.
Guess you better get busy Jerry building those to make up for the 60 % we get from coal power plants. There are some days here in Iowa the wind blows like crazy and there are days where there is no breeze at all .Make sure you turn down your thermostat to about 60 this winter if your so gung ho at wanting to save the planet also.I put $700 in my propane barrel last fall and didn’t even fill it and if this cap and trade gets passed hard to tell how high that barrel will become i know a lot of people out in the country in Iowa who heat their house by this means. Guess you tell them to suck it up take one for the planet. I wouldn’t mind one bit if this would do something to help the climate. Cap and trade is a big scam and its gonna take whacked up side the head with reality to realize Al Gore is a snake oil salesman and is merely looking to get richer than his wildest dreams from a few warm days. And i say warm until we start shattering record highs. I’m not buying it here. New York hasn’t even hit 85 degrees this summer yet. Most recent record high in July in Des Moines July 31,1955 105degrees. If we had some real global warming it might be more like 108 which happened in 1936. I hope you enjoy being scammed along with us all Jerry. This will effect everything we will buy here on out. I want you to get rid of your electric or gas dryer and go back to 1940s on back dryer the good ole clothes line. That will make some savings.
You’ve never explained why so much ice is melting around the world. Is there any answer other than the fact that the world is warming?
What about those bulbs ? What do you think we should do with them? Do you think we need a recycle center to bring those toxic bulbs ? Or can we bring them to your house to recycle them? Dump them in a landfill near you so they leech into your ground water? Can we make a more efficient safer bulb? If these things are so toxic and we have no current plate to recycle them why are we making and selling them? I would far rather use the old bulbs. I read where fluorescent bulbs can cause migraines. I suffer from those so i leave mine off more than i used to and i don’t have them near as bad as before. I’m open for ideas if none is come up with in 40 years we will be sitting in the 1800s in our houses and with transportation about the same pretty much if you can afford those electric cars. Got couple hundred million of those built yet ? You libs better get busy. Its like someone decided that all the advancements we have made are bad and we need to be taken back to a time before where it took you week to get across the country by train. Amtrak better come down with their ticket prices before i take a 6 hour ride when i could fly for half the price and be there and back in 2 hours. As for conserving energy Jerry my electric bill last month was $43.00 I barely make a carbon print in the dust while Al Gore makes craters flying his gulf stream jet all over and riding in the big SUVs limo’s he wants to get rid of. Not to mention the carbon crater his house hold utility bills are racking up. But Its Do as I say Not as Do.
Your carbon pollution comes from more than your electric bill. No doubt Gore’s is higher. Maybe you could both agree to stay home more and go to bed at sundown.

Why is the ice melting at both poles and in Greenland and in most glaciers?
I see the week ahead is calling for high 70s and low 80s. Seems to me I remember July being a lot hotter while I was a kid. Hmmm……….
I havent a clue why those are melting ice melts why is a glacier in south america growing . I dont know but were breaking 100 yr old record low temps and set a record for low high temp for friday. Until there is a palm tree in my yard and i can sit under it in January in short and drink ice tea i will believe. But when i see people drooling over the carbon credit market they cant care why ice melts either as long as you buy their credits. Big ole scam thats gonna drive us back into the stone age.
