If Hawaii can not provide universal health care to a subset of its population, how could the U.S. as a whole do better at providing health care to all?

They tried state provided child universal health care in Hawaii not to long ago they found out that it wasn’t long before people who was paying for their health insurance and could afford what they had was dropping it and taking the states free. If you was buying hot dogs for 2.00 and along comes a stand that says free on it i know which one i would take who cares who pays for it right ? I am not a politician and I don’t play one on tv but I think the simple way to address it is to empower the individual and not the government. The more difficult part of how to implement that is what I leave up to the people I elect because that is their job although right now most of them should be fired.

The Left has had years of experience in organizing political rallies. People like Obama have made a living doing it. And they have a lot of money to not only organize, but if necessary pay the organizers. In the years that preceded the Communist revolution in Russia, it was ironic that much of the money and organization came not from the peasants or working classes, but from spoiled and corrupted and twisted
members of the upper middle and higher classes. Seems like there has been a lot of that in this nation as well.

Many conservatives, myself included, thought it was ironical in the earlier days of Spring and Summer when the Tea Parties were being held and during the earlier days of August when many protesters to the socialist Democrat health care bill and other atrocities were showing up at Town Hall meetings—that the liberals and leftists were complaining about organized conservative opposition. Turns out that the conservative opposition was largely self-motivated with homemade signs, whereas the Left counterattack
is organized by professional political types with a lot of money and a lot of professionally painted signs.
And a lot of planning to give inside information and advantage to the liberal/leftists and preclude any opposing viewpoints.

It is a reminder that the battle is hard and long and while sponaneity is good, organization and perserverance is a necessity among those opposing the liberals and radicals in power.

Jerry, do you know the facts and figures of how many of these people actually sought care when they could but didn’t? Do you know how many of these people could afford a health care plan that employers provided them but chose not to enroll because they chose to spend their money elsewhere? The fact is that out of the 47 million uninsured:

12-13 million are illegals (Why do we need to pay for their health care? They could have gotten into this country legally.)
15 million haven’t bothered to sign up for the insurance plan that they qualify for (If they don’t get around to signing the plan they are eligible for then why would they take the time to fill out the government plan?)
10 million can affort a health care plan but choose not to because they want to spend their money on other things (I have nothing against owning a lot of stuff or blowing money on a six pack, but don’t expect me to cover your health care costs.)

2-5 million cannot afford insurance because they don’t make enough money or they have a pre-existing condition (I think we should be focusing on this instead of overhauling the whole system that will affect everybody.

They say over 20,000 people die prematurely in the USA every year because of lack of care. We are number one in that figure. What should we do about it?

It felt very strange to be there with Obama signs everywhere it felt so much like election time. And of course ole Leonard couldn’t waste a event without getting out his 20 yrs in the military and Vietnam he sounds like a broken record. I know alot of Vietnam vets and you sure wont hear them mention much about it nor how many years they served unless asked. It was dam sad to see people belittled when they had read pages from HR3200 and the morons saying it wasnt true. Its there in black and white you blind pompous morons sit down and read some of its in plain englist for those in the USA that abla english. The senior citizens there who dont seem to understand that Obama is going to make major cuts in medicare so if ole grandma or grandpa needs a hip or knee replacement they will be paying for it themselves as they would most likely get told they are to old. To save the billions they would have to cut out alot of surgeries and joint replacements. They was there wearing their Union badge of stupidity keep paying in the union dues and keep someone living the high life. I hope they have the money for granny when she needs a new hip when she takes a dive on the ice this winter. My grandparents died long ago but i know alot of older people and sure would not want to see them suffer from lack of care. I know to well as i have my own knee troubles. God help us either way.
