The last I checked no one can legally be denied medical care: not the rich and not the poor. And I don’t know about you but I prefer to have my doctor perform my surgery rather than my garbage collector or my librarian.

To really cut costs we need to see health services like we see garbage colletion and library services—as a government’s duty to all its people, not just to its retired soldiers. Forty countries see it that way and their doctors are not millionaires.

All of them have staff who are way better at reading law than they are themselves. Do you think farmer Grassley or Boswell can read law? I don’t.

I think all of them are too cowardly to say, ” I don’t have time to read bills and I’m not really good at it. It takes a lawyer sitting in the law library to really read, study and evaluate a bill that is hundreds of pages long. If I started reading all the bills, I’d never have time for a town meeting. But I have good staff. They think like me. That’s why I hired them. They read. We talk. If you don’t trust me on this, you should vote for my opponent in the next election, but be sure he (she) will do the same thing–hire good staff to read and write the bills.”

Is anyone gutsy enough to say that?
