Bob Vander Plaats and his “Infammatory” Language?

Why is the Iowa Democratic Party so infatuated with the Republican gubernatorial candidates more than nine months away from the primary? I realize that they are probably anything but proud of their standard bearer’s performance lately and are trying to distract us from that fact, but come on, accusing Bob Vander Plaats of using “rhetoric of armed extremists” is a bit of a stretch.
It’s one thing to go after Christian Fong for an ad that the IDP believes is misleading (which might be a fruitful effort if Fong was recognized in more than one area of Iowa) but it’s another thing to accuse Vander Plaats of “inflammatory speech” when the issue at hand was about President Obama’s health care plan. Perhaps the IDP doesn’t want to address why the constituents are riled up at the town halls or why Governor Culver is failing so badly.
By the way, President Obama has done wonders for the gun and ammunition industry. Perhaps it is because the 2nd Amendment is in place to allow us to protect ourselves from our own government. After all, we need something to cling to.

So you are stocking up on ammo to protect yourselves from your own government? How many cops do you plan to shoot? Or are you only attacking military bases, like those terrorists in NJ?

I didn’t call you anything. I asked a question. Care to answer? Let me repeat it: Who will you be using this ammunition on in your effort to “protect” yourself from the government?
Jerry, perhaps I could answer your question. I would take up arms to fight off any member of our government attempting to suppress and deny our constitutional rights.
And I fear the day that that happens is getting closer and closer. The only thing standing between you and an oppressive dictatorial government is Americans with guns. Take those away and we have NO protection.
That day passed years ago. American citizen Jose Padilla was arrested at an American airport and held incommunicado in a military prison for years. His constitutional rights to an attorney and to a speedy trial were denied by Ashcroft, Bush and other members of our government who loudly claimed the power to imprison him indefinately.
