No restrictions should apply to you on that front. The carbon dioxide that is released by wood burning is just the same carbon that the tree soaked up during its recent life. So it is not a net addition of carbon to the atmosphere. The problem is coal and oil. Their carbon has been locked up for eons. Releasing it now adds new carbon dioxide and makes the atmosphere into a greenhouse. You’ll be happy to know that wood stoves don’t add to global warming.
