Nightmare Before Christmas

When I went to bed last evening, I did so praying for a Christmas miracle this morning. I was hoping that enough US Senators would see the error of their ways. I was hoping that they would see the light of truth in regards to the health reform bill that they were set to vote on this morning. I awoke this morning to find that this was not the case. I awoke to find that the Democrat majority in the US Senate felt the need to unleash a nightmare on the citizens of the United States. This morning 59 Democrats and 1 Independent chose to present to us; the American population; a nightmare before Christmas.

As Iowa Defense Alliance has already pointed out our very own Democratic Senator Tom Harkin viewed the Health Reform legislation as a Christmas Present for the American people. I suppose that in his sick and twisted world view everyone that receives a Christmas gift must pay for it because we will have to pay for this health reform plan. And according to many critics on both the left and the right we will have to pay more for less coverage. Some Christmas gift Senator Harkin.

Then there is the case of Nebraska Senator Ben Nelson. Either this man is a master at extortion or he had a heartfelt change of heart. For weeks he had proclaimed that he would not vote for the health plan being discussed in the Senate. But Senator Nelson changed his mind. You see, Harry Reid included language into the health reform bill that effectively worked as a bribe. The State of Nebraska is set to receive millions of dollars in aid to help cover the increased costs of Medicare and Medicaid that the state will incur as a result of the Health Reform legislation.

If you would like some more proof that this bill was unworthy of passage just look to the media. Over the last several days the talk has not been about the merits of the bill, assuming there were any at all. Instead the media has been talking about the backroom deals that the Democrats have had to take part in to get the bill through the Senate. This bill wasn’t passed because it was a good decent bill worthy of passage. This bill was passed because corrupt career politicians got paid off. So now because of the political opportunism of a these narcissists the frustrated American public is one step closer to tyranny. For on Christmas Eve 59 Democrats and 1 Independent voted yes on the Nightmare before Christmas.
