Kim Pearson: “I am not part of the political establishment so I am beholden to no one.”

Geri Huser is the Democrat representing the 42nd district in the Iowa House. This district is made up of eastern Polk county (Altoona) and part of Jasper county. She has been a fixture in that area as she assumed office in 1996 and has even run un-opposed during some election cycles, but not this time.
Kim Pearson won the June 8th Republican primary to become Huser’s challenger. Kim does not come from the political class, but instead is one of the great Americans who have risen up to the challenge to take our state and country back. She has a B.A. in political science and a law degree but describes herself on her website as “a wife and mother who is passionate about God, family and our country.”
Democrats have controlled eastern Polk county for quite some time and Kim Pearson is looking like she may upset that apple cart. I have included a Q & A with Kim Pearson in this post and for more information on her please visit her website.
What is your stand on same-sex marriage and why do you hold that view?
I believe marriage is between one man and one woman and I support an Iowa Marriage Amendment. Incumbent, liberal Geri Huser supports gay marriage and voted to deny Iowans the right to vote on the Marriage Amendment.
What is your opinion of the state budget and what could or should be done differently, if you feel that something should be changed?
Simply put, out state budget is not balanced and it is disingenuous to assert otherwise. For the next fiscal year, liberals at the State Capitol have committed Iowans to $1.1 billion in spending without the ongoing revenue needed to fund it. Every department/expenditure must be evaluated in light of our constitution and in light of efficacy.
We need conservative leadership to begin the process of eliminating big government programs that encourage dependency and return our State government to its rightful limited role.
What do you think of the status of unemployment in our state?
Iowa businesses face multiple threats: President Obama’s healthcare law (which Geri Huser supports); some of the highest income tax rates in the country; and, now, efforts supported by Geri Huser to overturn our historic right-to-work law. Unemployment will only get worse unless conservative steps are taken to make Iowa a business friendly state.
I will sponsor a Missouri-style “no Universal Health Care” law; stop the liberal spending programs; sponsor legislation to reduce taxes; and, defend Iowa’s Right-to-Work Law.
What is a big hot button issue within the district that you are honing in on and what’s your take on that issue?
The big hot button is “We the People” against the liberal collectivism agenda espoused by Obama, Culver, Iowa House Leader Pat Murphy and his followers like incumbent Geri Huser. House District 42 voters want: economic growth; enforcement of our immigration laws; stopping government run health care; and, the right to vote on the definition of marriage. What we don’t want is: job killing government debt and high taxes; welfare benefits for illegal aliens; government run health care; and, liberal judges who ignore the constitution and think that they are better than the people they serve.
Finally, why should people vote for you?
I am the conservative constitutional alternative to the liberal agenda. Our State legislators should be protecting us and instead they have sold us out! I am not part of the political establishment so I am beholden to none.
I am an outspoken advocate for “We the People.” I will sponsor legislation protecting Iowans against federally mandated universal healthcare and will sponsor an Arizona style anti-illegal alien law. I will promote a healthy business climate in Iowa by stopping liberal spending programs; reducing burdensome taxes; and, by protecting Iowa’s Right-to-Work. I will fight for pro-life and pro-traditional marriage legislation.
Which spending programs will you stop? How much will that affect the budget?
How can you protect us from rapacious corporate control of everything?
I have heard Kim interviewed on the radio and have been very impressed with her answers and down to earth views that represent my exact feelings. Thank you for this information about Kim.
